Johanna was my therapist. She helped me realize so much in the short time I knew her. She taught me that being a flawed human is okay. She taught me how to be patient with myself and forgive myself for my shortcomings. I will never forget her. I didn’t know her outside of our provider patient relationship, but I wish I did. My love to her family and friends.

It is with true sorrow that I learned Johanna is not physically with us any longer. I knew Johanna in pigtails running around my yard with my daughter Carla and my sons Lee and Oscar following them. Life would bring us apart but the love was always there. When our family suffered the loss of Oscar Johanna was there to comfort and care. Well, I can find solace in the thought that they are both up there laughing like they once did.
Our sincere condolences to the family. The Zanoni friends. Sylvia, Carla and Lee

My deepest condolences to Johanna’s family and friends. I felt lucky to know her and like so many others, found her to be warm, funny, and a truly wise social worker. Johanna’s contributions to New Jersey’s children and families cannot be underestimated. We were so lucky to have her leadership and expertise at the New Jersey Catastrophic Illness in Children Relief Fund and at the New Jersey Board of Marriage and Family Therapists. I wish I had one last chance to thank her for her service, and to tell her she was among the finest social workers I had the opportunity to know. May she rest peacefully.

I send my heart felt condolences to the friends, family and colleagues of Johanna. She was always such a bright light for me when we worked together for the State. I'd attend the Catastrophic Illness in Children Relief Fund meetings as a representative of my department and remembering feeling a bit out of my depth. However, Johanna always had time to help me better understand an issue, to remind me of the value of my participation and to just extend a friendly, warm and sincere smile from across the table. It is not often that I find this authenticity in care and comfort in this line of work, but when you do you cherish it, you remember it and it makes an indelible mark on your soul in a way that you carry that authenticity and that light forward. I will forever be grateful for the time I had with her and the mark Johanna has left on my soul spurring me forward. May God bless you and keep you!

It was my greatest joy to work with you and to claim you as a dear friend. We used to jam to Journey in my office and have such fun. The world won’t quite be the same without you, your light was bright and I feel the sun has dimmed now.
We will meet again, dear Johanna, and I will see that bright smile and hear your soft wisdom again. I will love and miss you until then.
My sincere condolences to family.❤️
