Ilse Ruth Vliet, 91, of Edison, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021 at her home. Ilse was born in Scotia, New York, raised in Raritan Township, which became Edison Township, where she resided for 79 years. She held various jobs, including Fischmans Department Store, NJ Bell Telephone and the Home News Tribune. Ilse was a member of the Exchange Club in Edison, the Eastern Star, Garden Club and the Golden Glow of Christmas Past. In her free time, she enjoyed painting and rug hooking. Ilse was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Harold Raymond Vliet. She is survived by her children, Harold and his wife Donna and Nancy Lamkie and her husband Albert; grandchildren, Jennifer, Cynthia, Lindsay and Harold; and great grandchildren, John, Nolan, Emma, Brody, Samantha, Alexandra and Mitch. Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 4-7PM at Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue in Edison. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 28th at 10AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Metuchen.
