John Soulias: I would like to share some of my memories about Mr. Nyers. I grew up next door to Mr. Nyers, Ms. Nyers, Alex and Pam. Growing up next to Mr. Nyers was the funnest time of my life. He taught me and my twin brother Joe how to ride mini bikes and motorized go karts. We would load his work van up with mini bikes and go karts and we would ride for hours at the Camp Kilmer fields. Mr. Nyers would also take me and Joe fishing at Farrington Lake. After five minutes of fishing. Me and Joe would ask Mr. Nyers how come we haven't caught any fish yet? Mr. Nyers would just shake his head and smile.
We would all jump into Mr. Nyers' work van and drive to Alex's farm in South Jersey. We would ride Alex's dirt bike around the farm. We loved going to the farm.
Whenever it snowed, we would have snow ball fights in the front lawn. 72 Schuyler Drive vs. 74 Schuyler Drive.
When Joe and I turned 18. All three of us (Mr. Nyers, Joe and myself) became certified baseball umpires. We would umpire baseball games for little leagues and different high schools. We had a blast umpiring baseball games with Mr. Nyers.
As Joe and I got older we became New Jersey State Troopers. We enjoyed sitting in Mr. Nyers' kitchen and talking about our day at work.
I tell my children I grew up in a great family with wonderful neighbors. The Nyers weren't really neighbors, they were like family. Attached is a picture of Mr. Nyers and Ms. Nyers with my son Tommy in 1995. Like I said, we were family.

To the Nyer Family. You have our deepest sympathy in the passing of your mother and father. I met your dad when he would stop and talk to my neighbors Nate and Mary Walker. They have both gone on to be with the Lord. May God continue to Bless each of you and wrap his loving arms around you during this time.

Rest in peace, sorry we lost contact over the last few years, health and life had gotten in the way. You had the biggest and kindest heart when it came to family and friends. I will miss you..

We have SO many wonderful memories of Al that it is almost impossible to pick just one! Out of all of them, Bernie still remembers this one and laughs every time he tells it.
Big Al (as Bernie always called him), took all of us drift fishing for flounder. Big Al took a large cooler full of ice and beer of course! From the time we boarded the boat, people started kidding them “are you here to fish or drink??” And of course, to that Big Al would reply BOTH!!
Well as luck would have it, they had a terrific day of fishing, with Big Al teaching us his method of “ one, two, three-cha cha cha!” As he would lift and drop his line to lure the flounder in. We all thought he was just a”little bit crazy” but it WORKED every time!!
By the end of the trip, we had a cooler full of flounder and the last laugh!!
Thank you Big Al for many wonderful memories! You will be sorely missed by all of us!!

The best dad anyone could ask for. A piece of my heart was lost on 4/29 and nothing can fill that void. That spot is yours only! ❤️

Dad, We all can take solace in knowing you are at peace now with mom. You freely spoke your mind, while at the same time being generous to a fault. I miss our shop talk. I miss you.

I met Alex Nyers probably 30 years ago when
Working at doctors office. He and Susan came
Together and he would always try to make me
Laugh by telling a story or whatever. He hadn’t stopped all these years while poor Susan tried to
With all her might discourage his antics. Such
A terrific guy who loved his wife and family so much.
They are together again ..Condolences to his family
May Al and Susan be happy together again . St Matthews will miss you both !

Pop, I remember the day when you finally received your medals and how proud you were. Again, thank you for serving the country. You deserve a medal for being a great father-in-law, a great father and grandfather. I will always miss you but I have many fond family memories.
