Helen Maguire, (née Spellane,) 88, of Highland Park, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Brooklyn, NY she resided in Edison before moving to Highland Park 37 years ago. Mrs. Maguire was a Secretary at Roosevelt Hospital in Edison before retiring in 1991. She served as President of the CWA Union. She was an avid New York Mets fan. Mrs. Maguire was a communicant of St. Matthew's R.C. Church in Edison. Mrs. Maguire was predeceased by her husband William Maguire in 1963 and by her daughter Maureen de Wit in 1995. She is survived by her sons and daughters in-law Bill and Kathy Maguire of Highland Park, Michael and Lynn Maguire of Kildeer, Ill., Bernie and Chris Maguire of Edison, and Kevin Maguire of Highland Park; her daughters Kathy Maguire of Monroe, and Judy Perez and her husband Albert of South Carolina; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday December 7, 2013 at 9:30 am at St. Matthew's R.C. Church in Edison. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in New Brunswick. Visitation will be on Friday December 6, 2013 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Boylan Funeral Home 10 Wooding Avenue in Edison.
