Obituary of Carol C Gussis
Carol C. Gussis, passed away on January 12, 2019, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
Born on December 19, 1938 to Robert and Margaret (Fitzgerald) Carson in Boston Massachusetts, Carol enjoyed a career in the Foreign Service of the United States State Department with postings in the Netherlands, Kuwait, and Naples, Italy, at Allied Forces Southern Europe (AFSOUTH) where she met her husband, George G. Gussis, Esq. whom she married in Athens, Greece, returning to reside in New Jersey.
She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Robert Carson, Jr. She is survived by her husband, George, with whom she celebrated 49 years of marriage on December 13, 2018; their two children, daughter Jennifer Toth and her husband John, and their son Geoffrey and his partner Karen Parker; her sister-in-law Mary G. Ellis and her husband, Joseph D. Ellis III; her grand-dog Jacob, her grand-cat Diego, and many relatives and friends.
Viewing will be at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1101 River Road, Piscataway, New Jersey 08854, on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with services to follow. Interment will follow at the Mausoleum of the Franklin Memorial Park, 1800 Route 27, North Brunswick, New Jersey 08902.
