Ohhh god, what just happened.. Matt was extremely kind and down to earth person. Always ready to help others. He was respectful to everyone and always carried a smiling face.I worked under him and I would say he was one of the best managers I ever had. Thank you Matt for everything, you’ll definitely be missed. RIP.

Matt was my friend since I was a teenager, I learned so many things with him one of the things I will never forget is learning to trade stocks with him, at work he will always have a cup of coffee with him and would say must ship can’t go home, or save money by turning off the lights. Matt visited me twice at my home in up State New York he was a good friend who loved to travel by train by air and see beautiful places. I thank you for helping me at work and outside work as a good friend my friends and family will miss you so much.
Wherever you keep a smile as always.

I worked with Matt for many years at R&D. He was always polite and pleasant. We chuckled with how he would often say, "Must Ship!". We called him Mr. Matt. Very sorry to learn of his passing. Truly a great person.

Matt, once you moved away, I kept up with your life through your sister, and occasionally got to visit with you when you came to Florida. You were so loved and you are already being missed.

Matt,
I won’t speak of the void that has been left in my heart. You wouldn’t want that. Instead I will talk of how you filled my heart and how you were admired. Childhood buddies, bike riding, catching lightning bugs. Your intelligence and work ethic and integrity; you never compromised your whole life. Worked yourself through college and would come over every Friday night where you bagged your newspapers and we would visit. You’d walk in the door and put your cap on baby Jill’s head to cover her eyes and she’d play peek a boo. So proud of you the day you graduated from U. Tampa. Missed you too when you moved. But we talked every Saturday. Visited NYC, TwinTowers and Statue of Liberty together. And then numerous mansions throughout the years you and I and Jim would visit. Cold turkey sandwiches and laughs at night after company left on Thanksgiving. Will never forget your reaction when I pulled into the driveway of Mar al Lago. And the antics at Vizcaya. You would come to the cottage in NY whenever we visited and we would have so many laughs. Can’t imagine not seeing you there kayaking with us again. Or that The Plan was always that you would come be by us in our retirement years. Not Today-ay. Love you.

We are so sad and feel so bad for the family. We were very lucky to know Matt and have such great memories of fun times. From the time he rescued us like a St. Bernard in a blizzard, when he let us turn his car into a clown car and packed 7 people in his Kia Soul to go out to dinner in Daytona and spending time with him at Jeep Beach was always fun. We have nothing but fond memories of great times. We'll miss you Matt.

Matt, you sat by me on the bus as a 5th grader at Cypress Elementary after I moved to Florida in 1974 and remained my best friend ever since. How can I possibly comprehend how different life will be, with you gone? My quiet, shy, polite and reserved yet hilarious friend; You will be missed. The pride of every educator who has ever had the honor of your attendance. Yes, from grade school through University, you were always at the top of your class. The kid who teachers would brag about and use as an example for future success. I see traits of you in my son who is about to leave for college and it makes me proud.
And that dry comical way you would recite insane things that would always seem to happen to you, and situations you would find yourself in. I will miss those stories the most. I will miss reminiscing with you about our adventures. Like the time we went to see your hero, David Letterman, in NYC....and being chosen to portray Johnny Carson. (You), and Ed McMahon, (me), during the NBC set tour. And a thousand stories just as unique.
Matt, you loved Mexico so much and the simple way of life you experienced, living in Puebla in your earlier years. I loved hearing stories about your travels and adventures. You treasured the “amigos” you accumulated during your life time and your fluency in Spanish was indiscernible from the natives. Matt, you were such a unique, honorable and trusted friend. Who will I talk to about so many memories from the past 42 years? No one really, it just wont be the same. You are irreplaceable. I will try and remain appreciative that I at least had the experience and honor to be friends with such a brilliant human being. But at this point, Matt, I just cannot bring myself to say good bye. That will take time.
Your Friend,
Bill
