Obituary of Thomas Lawless

Thomas Lawless, 83 of Edison, passed away Friday June 22, 2018 at Brighton Gardens, Edison.

Tom is a lifetime member of the Operating Engineers Local 825 since 1953 and a veteran of the US Army serving in Germany in the mid 1950s.  He was married to the late Margaret Lawless for 53 years prior to her death last year.

Tom was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Lawless, his parents John A. and Catherine Lawless, his brother John (Jack) and his niece Colleen Carroll.

He is survived by sister-in-law Faye Lawless of Verona, NJ, sister Dorothy (Dotte) Carroll and her husband Richard of Coudersport, PA, brother Bartholomew (Bart) and his wife Gale of Milford, Ma.  Uncle Tom is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, great-grand nieces and a great-grand nephew.

Tom’s family thanks the dedicated staff at Brighton Gardens of Edison for their loving and tender care of Tom.  The family also thanks Paul and Francine Martin who took Tom under their collective wings, developing a friendship that helped both Tom and his family in so many ways.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Monday June 25, 2018 from 8:30-9:30AM at Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM at Guardian Angels Church, Edison. Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
