Obituary of Irene G. McCandless

Irene G. McCandless, 89, of Edison, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at JFK Haven Hospice. Born in Olyphant, PA she was a resident of Edison for 68 years.

She was predeceased by her husband John McCandless in 2005, her son Gary Smith, her grandson Jason Smith, and her step-son Eric McCandless. Surviving are her son Edmond Smith and wife Kathryn of Hudson, FL, daughters Gloria Smith of Edison and Marilyn Mount and husband Robert of Ft. Wayne, IN; step-son Timothy McCandless of Pt. St. Lucie, FL;  her 9 grandchildren Andrea, Shawn, Shanna, Susan, Denise, Melany, Gary, Tyler, and James; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Friday, May 11 from 5-8 pm at Boylan Funeral Home 10 Wooding Ave., Edison. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 12 at 10 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
