Obituary of Edward Joseph Kopec

Edward J. Kopec, 68, of Edison, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at home. Born in Brooklyn, he was a resident of the Township of Edison most of his life.

Mr. Kopec was a graduate of St Joseph High school and Rutgers University with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He was a Master Draftsman and Carpenter. He had a lifelong passion for photography. He loved to travel, especially to Arizona, New York City, and Poland.

A devoted husband and dedicated father; he loved history and turned any trip into a learning experience. He gave his daughters a sense of adventure and was always there for his family, whether it was his involvement in his daughters school activities, building furniture for his wife or fixing things for family, friends and his church. Ed lived his life with a kind heart, welcoming smile, funny one-liners and easy going can-do attitude. He loved Oldies music, the Wild West, Air shows, Road-Trips St. Anthony and John Wayne. He was always willing to explore, teach someone, lend a hand or show them a magic trick. He worked hard his whole life to provide for a loving family and was eager to help anyone that needed it. He never lost his spirit of adventure and those memories that he loved to share. Eddie will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

He was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Anna Kopec. Surviving are his beloved wife of 42 years Krystyna (Ratajczak) Kopec of Edison; his daughters Michelle Kopec of Las Vegas and Vanessa Kopec of Edison; and his sister Christine Scaramelli and husband Henry of Montville.
