Have just learned of the passing of a great person and patriot. We both served in the Coast Guard at Jones Beach, NY as junior Guardsman where we picked up medical waste in 1988 that had nationwide media coverage. Pat was also the Best Man at my Wedding in Manhattan. By pure chance, I saw him outside Fort Jackson in 2006 and shared favorable memories in passing of our Army Reserve experiences. I am sadden not seeing him again and with a heavy heart wish his family my sincere condolences to such a great and caring person.
