Obituary of Joseph Madr
Joseph F. Madr, of Edison, died on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at JFK Medical Center in Edison, He was 94 years old. Born in New York City, Joseph lived there until moving to Edison 66 years ago.
Mr. Madr was employed as an Investigator at Western Electric in Kearny for 43 years, retiring in 1984. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a communicant of St. Matthew's R.C. Church in Edison, and his memberships include V.F.W. Post 3117 in Edison, Stelton Senior Citizens, and Telephone Pioneers- Keyport Chapter.
Mr. Madr was predeceased by his wife, Mary A. Madr (née Lally,) in 2006, and a brother, William F. Madr. Surviving are his nephews, Michael Placek, Stanley, Gregory, William, and Ronald Madr and a niece, Lorraine Colbree.
Funeral services will take place Monday, March 2 at 9:30 a.m. at the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue in Edison. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 1, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
