Joey Vincent Luistro was a man of many words, always shaking hands and making new friends, like he was "The Mayor". But those words were always carefully chosen, constructed... and spoke volumes of his kind and thoughtful soul.
He will be missed by so many, myself included! Vince showed me early on as teenagers the meaning of living life with integrity. We may have fallen out of touch over the years (but kept up with him & his fam through his sister Jeni!), but still, I cherish our years of friendship.
All of the collective memories that we'll all be sharing about him in the next few hours, days, weeks, and months... for some... but for years and years to come for his closest loved ones... it's all a true testament that will bring to the forefront, that Joey/Vince, had a life well-lived, filled with love, great honor and integrity.
My thoughts and prayers spreading light and love as we lay to rest a kindred soul are with the entire Luistro family, especially Mildred and the kids, Tita Juliet, my dear sister-friend Jeni, Jaydee, beautiful Mika, the rest of the Luistro/Ocampo clan, and to his Family in Blue. Rest in power.

To Vince’s wife and the bereaved family, my condolences and prayers to you.
I knew Vince through our Singles for Christ days. I’ve also attended the summer picnics organized by the Edison Police Department. I would see him & his family in local events such as Simbang Gabi, as a fellow Filipino American residing in the neighborhood. We can all remember Vince as a good guy serving the community. The last I saw of him was when he & his family won the grand raffle prize last year, at St Cecelia’s 100th Anniversary Celebration at Pines Manor.
Saddened to hear of his passing. Gone so soon — May he be at eternal peace with the Lord. I will offer Masses for him, good for 1 year, which is the best gift we can do for those who have gone to the afterlife. May God bless us all.
Sincerely,
Alice Abasolo

Joe and I were police academy classmates and worked together at Rutgers before I transferred. We lost touch for several years and then Facebook became a thing where we reconnected. It was if we had contact all of those years. Joe was an all around great person. My condolences to his family and family in blue. May he rest in peace.

Our sincerest condolences to the family of Joe Luistro. I first met Joe while working at Williamson Realty as a fellow realtor. He was a very likeable guy who introduced me to my wife Cristy Kigerl for whom I owe him much gratitude. Joe was a very kind soul always willing to help anyone who needed help and helped my wife and myself on more than one occasion. We are deeply saddened to learn of his passing while being aware of his illness for some time now. Joe will surely be missed by many, may he rest in peace...Glenn & Cristy Kigerl
