Mary Elizabeth Richter, age 97, formerly of Normandy Beach, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023. She was born in Hartford, CT, raised in New Brunswick and lived in Normandy Beach for many years. She was a longtime member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Ocean Beach III Fire Company and volunteered at Deborah Heart and Lung Center. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She greatly enjoyed cleaning and even swept the sand off of her street. Mary was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Robert F. Richter; her son, Robert P.; five brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her sister, Jane; two grandchildren, Matt Richter (Partner Jen) and Jennifer O’Sullivan (William); and six great grandchildren, Connor, Sean, Bobby, Riley, Mary and Cameron. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and beloved friends. Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Boylan Funeral Home, 188 Easton Avenue, New Brunswick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at St. Peter’s Church, New Brunswick. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory may be made to The America Cancer Society. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
