David Gregory Lightner, 60, of Edison, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at his home. David was born and raised in Edison. he graduated from Edison High School in 1981. He then served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1981-1985. David was self-employed, working as a home inspector. In his free time, David enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and skating with his family. He was involved with the John Basilone Marine Corps League detachment #190 out of Milltown, NJ.. He served as the Toys for Tots representative, was a member of Honor Guard, and most recently as the Sargent at Arms. David was predeceased by his parents, William and Anna Lightner. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Robin Lightner; his sons, James Lightner and his wife Nicole and Sean Lightner and his wife Amber; his granddaughter, Lillian Marie Lightner; along with his in-laws, Ray and Eileen Wade. Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Friday, September 23, 2022 from 3-6PM at Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, 9:30AM at St. Matthew the Apostle Church, Edison. Cremation will be private.
