Obituary of "Betty" Huegel
Elizabeth Huegel, age 72 of Summerville, SC passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022, surrounded by her husband and children. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, on July 10, 1950, to the late Allen and Benita Stocker Sr., and was raised in Scotch Plains, NJ.
Elizabeth "Betty" and her husband Robert, were married in 1968, and had five children, two sons, and three daughters. They resided in Hightstown, NJ for over twenty-five years. Elizabeth "Betty" retired from Procter & Gamble in Dayton, NJ. She was a member of the Girl Scouts and Boys Scouts of America. She enjoyed camping, music, dancing, laughing, traveling, spending time with her friends and family, and most of all taking vacations with her grandchildren. Betty was a collector of Snow Baby figurines, and she loved her two mini longhaired dachshunds, Nick-Nack and Herbie.
Betty is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Robert Huegel Sr. of Summerville, SC; son, Robert Jr. and daughter-in-law, Penny Huegel of Hamilton, NJ, son, Richard Sr. and daughter-in-law, Tricia Huegel of Wirtz, VA, daughter, Brenda and son-in-law, David Long of Selma, NC, daughter, Tammy and son-in-law, Michael Gordy Sr. of Moncks Corner, SC, and predeceased by her late daughter, Lorrie and her husband John Herbert. Betty is survived by her thirteen loving grandchildren, Richard Jr., Tore, Laura, Susan, Thomas, Dylan, Brandon, Nicole, Stephanie, Teylor, John, Robert, her late granddaughter Kristina; and her three great-granddaughters, Isabella, Lilly and Mila.
Betty is also survived by her loving brothers and sisters, her predeceased brother, Allan Stocker Jr., brother, Donald and sister-in-law, Betty Stocker of Lumberton, NC, sister, Ruth Ann Stocker Sale and sister-in-law, Dee of Clayton, NC, brother, Timothy and sister-in-law, Chris of Kenilworth, NJ, brother Mark and sister-in-law, Marguerite Stocker of Red Bank, NJ; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Betty was blessed with a wonderful family, and many friends that she loved dearly. She also had many bonus children, as she was lovingly called “Mom”. Betty was a funny, warm, inviting, loving, and compassionate person.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, September 2, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison, NJ. All are welcome to gather at the Funeral Home on Saturday, September 3rd at 9:00 a.m.. Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 a.m.. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway, NJ.
