Gloria “Mimi” Lauer, age 88 of Edison, NJ passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Brooklyn, NY to Edward & Agusta Mabee on July 10, 1934 and was adopted by John & Anna Meyer at age 3. Raised in New Brunswick, NJ until junior high school then moved to North Plainfield to live with her brother, George Meyer & family. After graduating North Plainfield High School in 1954 she worked at Mack Drug (now CVS) for 15 years; then moving to Edison, NJ in 1963 with her husband Fred Lauer & daughter Deborah. She worked at Metro Drug in Edison for many years. Fred Lauer passed away in 1984. Gloria then worked for Prudential-Bache Securities and retired at age 70. She belonged to the Sweet Adelines Chorus in Piscataway, NJ for over 10 years, enjoyed Broadway shows, Plays in the Park, Irish celebrations, the Jersey Shore and being near the ocean, church socials and events, and various activities with the Seniors Club. She belongs to the Guardian Angels Parish (Transfiguaration of the Lord) in Edison, NJ. As a member of the Rosary Altar Society she served as Secretary & then Treasurer for many years. She shared 18 years with Edward Daniher whom she loved dearly. Edward passed away in 2013. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and George Leshchanka of Edison, NJ; and stepson, Joseph Lauer of Vermont; grandaughter, Kathleen Resko; and two great-granddaughters, Alexia and Mila; nieces, nephews & extended family members. She was blessed with a wonderful family and many friends that she loved dearly. Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, August 15, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison, NJ. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 16th at 10:00 a.m. at the Transfiguration of the Lord Church (Guardian Angels), followed by burial at St Peter’s Cemetery, New Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations to Transfiguration of the Lord Church, 37 Plainfield Ave, Edison, NJ 08817
