Richard Polny, 72, of Somerset, N.J passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Richard was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He received his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from Palmer Chiropractic College, Davenport, Iowa. He ran a successful chiropractic business for many years. Later in life, he became a special education teacher at New Brunswick High School. Richard was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Lottie Polny; and a sister, Joan Polny. He is survived by his children, Ryan Polny of Kennesaw, Georgia, and Ashley and Roberto Hajek of Yardville, NJ; his loving girlfriend, Laurel Dejonge of Somerset, NJ; along with his grandchildren, Luke and Logan Hajek. He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Richard proved himself to be a loving and dedicated father and grandfather. He always taught us to work hard and live life to the fullest. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time at the beach, traveling, exploring nature, and listening to smooth jazz music. Following Richard’s wishes, cremation was private. A Memorial Gathering will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21st at All Saints Lutheran Church: 5205 Deborah Dr, Piscataway, NJ 08854.
