Obituary of Henry Rzewuski

Henry Rzewuski, 96, of Edison, NJ, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2022 at RWJ Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ. Born and raised in Warsaw, Poland, he emigrated to Bayonne, NJ in his early twenties and enlisted in the US Army where he attained the rank of Corporal. While stationed in England, Henry met the love of his Joan. They married in 1954, returned to Bayonne in 1955, had four sons and moved to Edison in 1966. He worked as an operator for Maxell House Coffee for decades before retiring. He loved reading the newspaper and WWII books, gardening and spending time with his family. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Helena Rzewuski; his brothers Eugene, Jerzy, and Waldek; his son, Eugene; and daughter-in-law, Victoria. Surviving are his beloved wife of 67 years, Joan (Heyhoe) Rzewuski; three sons, Richard (Edgewater, FL), Michael (Edison, NJ), and Robert and fiancé Danielle Alfonso (Clifford, PA); seven grandchildren, Keith Rzewuski (and wife Susan), Kristin Colbert (and husband Christopher), Jessica Rzewuski, Shelly Rzewuski (and husband Kian Barry), Rebecca Maggiotto (and husband Robert), Brandi Rzewuski and Michael Rzewuski. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Koral, Kyle, Cooper, Victoria, Grayson, Jack and Olivia. Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Gathering on Sunday, March 6, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison. Henry was privately cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations in Henry’s memory can be made to the American Cancer Society.
