Obituary of William R. English
William R. English, 76, of Edison, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022 at JFK Medical Center, Edison. William was born in Poughkeepsie, NY to the late William and Ann English. He proudly served his country as a Lance Corporal in the US Marines. William was awarded many medals and ribbons for all his time bravely served overseas in Vietnam. After he was honorably discharged from the US Marine Corp, he continued his service to his country and community. William was a member of the American Legion in Sayreville, the VFW and Elks in Edison. He was a life member and served as Commandant of the Marine Corp League John Basilone Detachment where he also received the Marine of the Year award. William worked as an HVAC technician until his retirement when he would spend his time with his family. He adored his grandchildren, spending as much time as life would allow with them.
William is survived by his loving wife, Doreen; son, Bill English and his wife Laura; daughter, April Langan and her husband Tim; sisters, Sharon English, Charlie and Laurel Belcher; along with his grandchildren, Julian and Miles English and Madison Langan.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 24th at 9:30 a.m. at St. Matthew the Apostle Church, Edison. Interment will follow at New Calvary Cemetery in Parlin.
