Obituary of William Joseph Lowry
William Joseph Lowry, 80, life-long resident of Edison, NJ, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021, surrounded by his family at home. He was born in Manhattan, NY, then moved to Edison in 1952. He retired after 50 years with the Steamfitters Local Union 638, NY, NY. Billy was a die-hard fan of the NY Yankees, Giants and Rangers. He was a member of many local clubs: the VFW, AL435, Moose Lodge, Elks and the Italian American Club. He was loved by many.
He was predeceased by his parents, William F. and Helen (Cicchetti) Lowry; wife, Judith (Curtin) Lowry; and sons, William A., John and Kevin Lowry. He is survived by his two sons, Robert of Edison and Daniel of MA; four sisters, Jean (Richard) Aszman of Edison, Catherine (Christopher) Fessey of PA, and Virginia and Helen Lowry of Piscataway. Also surviving are his granddaughter, Danielle Paulino (Alex Folnagy); four great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Miley, Christopher and Julianna; his first wife, Louise Tunison; and many nieces and nephews; and his fiancé/companion, Joyce McKim-Bolton.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue in Edison. There will be an evening Funeral Service during that time.
