James Andrew Borbely of New Brunswick died on January 28th at St. Peter's Medical Center shortly before his 93rd birthday. Jim was a lifelong resident of New Brunswick and a graduate of New Brunswick High School. Among his many accomplishments, Jim was an All-State halfback, served as a lieutenant in the US Marine Corp during WWII, attended Duke University, served on the New Brunswick High School Hall of Fame board, a board member of the Raritan Valley Savings & Loan and the New Brunswick Board of Education. Jim will be dearly missed by his wife of 70 years, Marie Anderson Borbely, and by his 10 children and their spouses, 23 grand children and 18 great grand children. No wake service will be held, and the burial service will be private. A memorial mass celebrating Jim's life will be held at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in New Brunswick on March 3 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's name can be made to St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in New Brunswick or to The New Brunswick Public Library.
